workin for the weekend

So close, yet so SO far away.
I can NOT wait until 5pm tomorrow night.
{this is becoming all too familiar}
Will there ever be a time when I am not living for the weekend and I actually enjoy Monday-Thursday? I mean, the weekdays unfortunately out number the weekend days... this is not good, folks.  I pray for the day when I am just jump out of bed excited about going to work.  Perhaps this is unrealistic...hmm.

Tomorrow John is returning and we have a great weekend full of Razorback sports and fun times planned! I PINCH ME AM I DREAMING FINISHED MY RESEARCH PAPERRRRR!!
{Yes. I'm THIS excited}

Is this real life?!
John, who is my knight in shining data analysis armor, helped me SO much with creating charts and graphs for the results chapter yes I said chapter of my paper.  I would literally be sitting in a puddle of tears if I didn't have Johns help.  What a hunky Excel genius.  I spent 7 hours straight finishing up the last two chapters of my paper.  I'm a paper writing monster.  All I have left to do is create a PowerPoint to present all of my data and findings during my exit comps which are in 2 weeks (April 28).  I am known for being a procrastinator (I use this as a great opportunity to turn a negative into a positive because although I admit to procrastination, I work very efficiently under pressure... thank you very much) so the fact that I am finished with this 2 WEEKS before necessary is cause for celebration.
{I'm almost appalled with myself that this made me laugh out loud... who am I?}

And that, my bloggy friends, is JUST what we're going to do this weekend..CELEBRATE!!
{What is greater than a Razorback in a sweater?... the answer is nothing}

Razorback baseball is hosting Miss State this weekend and it's going to be a blast!  I hope the weather holds out because rainy weather and Sarah Beth's hair are NOT, I repeat NOT friends.
{Yes.  That glowing ball of light is my hair when induced by humidity and/or rain}

 Also on Saturday Razorback football is having their spring Red and White game.  Don't worry, you can all catch it on ESPN... be on the look out for me! Of course there will be drinks and laughs with all of our friends.  I just love when John comes into town because he makes a point that all of our friends hang out.  Since John became a real adult gross he doesn't get to come to Fayetteville very often so all of our friends try to get together when he does.  I am REALLY looking forward to this weekend!!

I'm not sure if I'll have time to sneak away and blog this weekend so if that's the case I'll have to recap you with all of the fun that was had on  sigh MONDAY or as I like to call it 'the day of the dead'.
I hope you all have a fun fun fun weekend!!

XOXO,

Tuesday Link Ups!

John is still in town!!
IS THIS REAL LIFE?!
We've spent 4 of the last 5 days together and he doesn't have to go back to Conway until Wednesday night... Hallelujah!!
So for now, I'm gonna keep today's post short and sweet! I wanted to link up with  CMae to bring ya

Today's topic is: Your Dogs Favorite Toy
What a sight... Cutest thing ever? I think so.
Oscar loves his BoBo!

Cashy puppy loooves his Quackers.  This is him with baby Quackers.
He has now upgraded to Adult Quackers and still loves it just the same.

I also wanted to link up with The Undomestic Momma to bring ya
Today's Topic is: Top 2 Drinks
Well this is easy...
1. SWEET TEA
Dear LORD I can't wait to drink a GALLON of this stuff Easter Sunday.  It has been too long, friends, way too long.

2. Blue Moon Beer (Sorry Momma)
I could and do drink my weight in this stuff... it's too good.

This "top two tuesday" has been enlightening... perhaps this is why I weigh 39401 pounds.
Things to think about.

Well I'm going to go enjoy a couple of Blue Moons with my gentleman lover.
Happy Tuesday, yall!!

XOXO,

Weekend Recap!

Hey friends!
It's Monday and time to get back into the swing of things.
So before I have to dive head first back into school and depression being busy, I will enlighten you with my fabulous, fun weekend!
Get excited!

On Thursday I was snuggled up on my couch watching tv and pretty much ready to go to sleep
*at 7pm... embarrassing*
when John texted me and said "I'm leaving in 5."
Excuse me?!
Best. Surprise. EVER.
He got to Fayetteville around 9pm and we went to dinner.  After dinner, we walked down Dickson (the street in Fayetteville with all the bars) when we heard some live acoustic music at one of the bars and stopped in.  It was so fun!
Then we went back to my apartment because sadly, I still had to work on Friday.

Friday I went to school.  They were short some subs so I sat in on a Biology class.  It was probably the easiest $$$ I have ever made.  Substitute teaching is where it's at.

Friday afternoon we went to the Arkansas vs. LSU baseball game and socialized with friends.  I love baseball games for two reasons:
1. EVERYONE goes and EVERYONE hangs out
2. You can bring a cooler in with whateva you want and REALLY enjoy the game.

Saturday we went to the Drive Thru Zoo with some friends in good 'ol Gentry, AR.  Gentry has about 2,100 people in it... when the 'Drive thru zoo' is your clame to fame.......

It was tooooo much fun:
{Attack of the CAMELS!!}
{Holding hands with baby Lemurs}
{Worlds FATTEST piggies}
{Yackity Yack}
{AND A BIRTH!!!}
"It's the circle of life" was definitely blasted from the car during this.

Drive thru Zoo was a highlight.  Ya'll, your life will be forever changed.
Saturday night, after the uplifting day at the zoo, we went over to a friends house and grilled some yummy food.
I was so happy and outgoing when it hit me that John had to leave that night because he worked on Sunday.
WAHHHHH.
We left our friends to go get his things so he could pack up and abandon me head back to Conway.  Well, it's safe to say that I completely broke down.  I started crying and being an idiot.  John, being completely opposite from me the sane and sensible human being that he is came up with the plan that I ride back to Conway with him Saturday night, work on homework while he was at work on Sunday then ride back up to Fayetteville Sunday night.
Now, if you're reading this, you are probably thinking 'that's a lot of driving and little hang time'.
Well you know what?
Your logical thinking doesn't matter.
Duh I took him up on this offer and headed on down to Conway.
WORTH IT.

So now it's Monday and I'm back at school being a horrible student a great multi-tasker.
Whew, this weekend was a whirl-wind.
Now its time to buckle down and get things done!
GROSS.
Hope you had a great weekend!

XOXO,

thankful thursday

Hello bloggy friends! Today is Thursday and it's time to link up with Jamie and get thankful!

I brag about my momma a lot because she is basically my best friend and I tell her almost everything.  However, today I'm going to focus on the other parental figure, my step dad Greg!

I am SO THANKFUL for Greg!
This man is awesome, ya'll.
I can credit him with pretty much all of the opportunities I have had in my life.
Not only is he fun, caring, and amazing to momma and myself, he also likes John.  Seriously, John talks to Greg all the time on the phone.  He probably even talks to Greg on the phone more than he talks to me...haha.  I know John is also thankful because Greg has blessed him with experience to get a great job.
That is one thing I like most about Greg.  He wants to see people he cares about succeed, and he'll do whatever he can to help out.

I'm being honest when I say that I don't know where I'd be without Greg.  He has given me the opportunity to not only go to college, but also attend grad school.  I am the first generation college grad from my side of the family.  I am DEFINITELY the first generation child with a Masters degree, and there ain't no one to thank other than Greg!

We also do fun things like fish, sing karaoke, and drive momma nuts :)  I'm happy to have Greg on my side when Momma Bear gets a little too agressive with her ONLY bear cub....haha.

I just wanted the world to know that I have the greatest step dad that ever existed.
(I'm not biased at all, people, it's a scientific fact)

Love you Greg and thank you for being you and for loving me!

XOXO,

what i'm loving wednesday...

Its Wednesday! That means it's time to forget about all of the horrible less than exciting things going on in our everyday lives and focus on what we love! If you want to join in on the fun click here and play along!

1. I'm loving all of my NEW FOLLOWERS!!! What up ya'll! I'm so glad you found my silly little page and are reading the silly little things I say! You. Are. Awesome.  You don't know how excited I get when I FINALLY come home from school and sprint to check my blog and see that I have an extra friend out there! Appreciate you!!

2. I'm loving WARMER WEATHER!! Apparently spring time weather got my memo and decided to pay Fayetteville a visit! It is BEAUTIFUL outside.  I realize that April showers bring May flowers... but how about April sun bring May fun... huh huh?!

3. I'm loving that I only have ONE MONTH LEFT OF SCHOOL!! Excuse me while I die of happiness.  This year has gone by faster than any of my previous years hallelujah.  I am so over school, its not even funny, ya'll.  My students keep complaining of 'senoritis' and I just keep shaking my head and reminding them that they have NO idea.  Silly high schoolers.

4. I'm loving that I'm BEING PRODUCTIVE this week!! Speaking of school and how much I'm over it, why does it seem that everything gets piled onto the end of the year and that if you have to do one more assignment your head will explode? Is this just me? Probably, but anyways... I have 14 assignments due in the next 3 weeks with two of those being an 80+ page research paper and a 21+ document portfolio... remember when I was talking about my head exploding? Yeah.  However, I've been super productive this week and knocked out almost 5 of the 14 assignments....that's a lot in 3 days ya'll.  ESPECIALLY for me.  Yes, go me, go me!

5. And as always I'm loving JOHN!! I love him for many different reasons, but this week I'm especially loving him because he knows how to work Excel and is helping me analyze my research data.  I could probably figure out excel, but it would take me a lifetime longer than I have time to do this project.  SOOOO happy my little hunky Engineer knows how to punch data buttons and VIOLLA make pretty charts!! LOVE YOU BOO!

Today, because I'm super ambitious, I'm also going to link up with Leigh Ashley to bring you
{one} what is one food that, as an adult you love, but as a child you said you’d never touch?
hmm... probably anything green? I don't know it's probably the other way around for me, I'm a pretty picky eater now.
{two} did you go to college? if yes, what was your major?
I did and it was the most fun experience EVER!! Probably had too much fun *wait, what's that?*  My major was Communication.  I'm still in college getting my Masters in Teaching.  But it's almost overrrr!!
{three} what’s the most wild animal you’ve seen in real life (not counting the zoo)?
probably a dolphin... not really anything too crazy.
{four} have you ever been to a fortune teller?
nope, and don't really want to.
{five} can you juggle?
Don't think so... I can't even hula hoop so I can't imagine I could juggle.
{six} hardwood floors or carpet?
Hardwood ALL DAY LONG
{seven} is it called “soda” or “pop”?
Wait, you mean coke?
{eight} what was your first car?
A 2001 Toyota Camery... classic.
{nine} what is the most decadent dessert you’ve ever eaten?
Momma makes award winning cheese cake that I could eat until my stomach explodes.  AWARD WINNING people!
{ten} how often do you rearrange your furniture?
Never... if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Tuesday Link Up!

Oh I'm so happy I came across this!
I'm linking up with Live What You Love to show off my lovely puppies! Because I'm obsessed.

My favorite picture of Oscar on my computer (momma has many many more that are cute) is...
What a stud.
He is such a calendar model.  This was taken out at the Texas ranch... such pretty wild flowers for the handsome man to run around in!

My favorite picture of Cash is...
This is one of my most favorite pictures of him... pretty sure he was jumping for a stick or something.
He was such a fun puppy... now he's a fun horse.

This was pretty hard because I have too many a lot of pictures of my puppy children.  Dogs definitely make the world go round if ya ask me!

I'm also linking up with theundomesticmomma to bring you
Today's theme is "Top 2 songs on your iPod".  I rarely listen to my iTunes or iPod (I'm addicted to pandora, slacker radio and XM radio) so these songs are super random.
On my iTunes the number 1 most played song is "Dear John" by Taylor Swift

I love this song and really can't think that it could be about John Mayer because the number 2 most played song on my iTunes is "Good Love is on the Way" by John Mayer
How ironic...
I do love these songs, but hello, I need to download some new ones... haha!

XOXO,

not the craftiest crayon in the box

It's Monday... again.
And while you could usually cue the sob song music and the 'woe is me' post... today I'm gonna switch it up! because honestly, if i spent one more minute thinking about how stressed i am, i'll have ANOTHER, yes another panic attack...
Today we're gonna get crafty!
Hooray!
I wouldn't consider myself very crafty talented, but I dabble with a paint pen every now and again.
The real craftster has to be my wonderful mother.  I can ask her to paint me something for my apartment and she just whips up something in no time!
Take this for example...
Hanging above my bed.  Love it.
or this...
Hanging above the tv in my living room so I can stare at it when I zone out from the terrible reality shows I'm watching.
I know, right?! I guess artistic skips a generation.

And while I'm bragging on my mother, lets not forget she's a wiz with the sewing machine.  She took some not even half of my sorority t-shirts from college and made the cutest blanket with it!!
It's my FAVORITE thing ever! I'm actually curled up in it right now!

Maybe I'm a little too hard on myself... I attempt can kind-of draw.  But I get too obsessive over every little detail then end up scrapping half of the things I start.
In undergrad where I wish I still was, a big thing to do for a fraternity formal was to paint a cooler for your date.  I did this for John, but I can't find any pics of it :( so sad...
However, for valentines day I painted a cooler for John and filled it up with all kinds of his favorite beers! He lives in a dry county now (if you don't know what that is, just know that it's stupid) so this was the perfect gift for him.  (And I baked him cupcakes.. don't worry)
Here's some pics of it...
{The front... SEC or die basically}
{Southern Proper and Cash puppy all rolled into one}
{A popular brand for Fayetteville folk...gotta keep it 'Fayettechill'}
{This side makes me mad... it was about 2am when I finished this...}
{And finally the top!}

When I have nothing to do after graduation ha, yeah right I'm gonna try to get more crafty.  For now I'll just obsess over Riff Raff here in Fayetteville.  If you aren't from Fayetteville, check it out... it's TOO CUTE!!
Hope ya'll have a great week!

xoxo,
