Things I just don't understand...

One of the reasons I love John is because I know that he has way more book smarts than I do.
(see, I even say things like 'book smarts')
Fact.
However, I like to believe that I have more common sense... therefore when it comes down to it, I would probably survive longer than him in the real world.
Don't question it, it's science.

With that being said, there are still some things that I just don't get and leave me scratching my head in everyday life.  Sometimes I think it's because I have too much time right now to sit around and think about things, but then I think about how really there is no such thing as too much time because in the big picture we are all here for such a short amount of time.
Follow me?

So here are some things that I think about and just don't quite understand....

*Why has no one invented a sarcasm font?
*Why do I check my phone for the time, then immediately check it again because I wasn't paying attention the first time?
*How in the WORLD do you fold a fitted sheet?
*How is time a constant thing but has the ability to move faster or slower depending on what we're doing?
*Why did I spend 3 years of my life trying to learn cursive?
*Why did the Devil himself invent Chocolate?
*Also, why did he invent Salt and Vinegar chips?
*Why do certain words, even when spelled correctly, look like their spelled wrong- making me stare at them for a long time, then eventually google them to make sure it's spelled right.
*Speaking of words: Who in the world decided that the English language needed things like you're and your, their, there, and they're, to, too, and two and so on? Communists?

Okay, that's probably good for now... I sadly could keep going, but I'll let you ponder these things with me.

Happy Tuesday, loves!

feeling hot hot hot

It's 10:45am as I'm writing this.
It is also 88 degrees outside.
"oh, that's not so bad" you say?
The heat index is currently 102.
I say 'that is unacceptable'.

So today, I'm going to sit in the nice cool air of my nice cool home a/c and let ya'll in on what went down in my little slice of the world this weekend.

Here we go...
*We celebrated this wonderful man's day of birth

*Watched our Razorbacks lose a big game... But they won yesterday so there's still hope we'll make it to Omaha! Come on Oma-hogs!
best seats in the house!

*Watched Oscar run the castle and show Cash who's boss

*And overall, just had a good weekend out in the country!

Hope ya'll had a great weekend!
Stay cool!
:)

Dear Family, I'll be seeing you tonight to celebrate Papa bear's bday! Can't wait
Dear Birthdays, I love you when you're there for others, not so much for me anymore so if you want to just skip this year, I won't hate it.
Dear sunburn, please go away. Lobster isn't a good color on anyone.
Dear John, I really don't have anything fun to say to you right now, I just like beginning a letter with 'Dear John'. Muah.
Dear John Mayer, After recent comments about Taylor Swift, I know people still think you're a huge douche-canoe.  I, however, love you and will be there to console you if need be.
Dear Interview Process, can we hurry on up a bit? I'm ready to have some answers up in here.
Dear Houston Summer, 95 degrees already? Rude.
Dear Food Trucks, You are a dream. I can't believe I've lived all my life without you.  You are reason #5 why I love Houston.  Especially you Burger Bus
I mean... thumbs up all around.
Dear Readers, I lurve you! Yes, YOU!

Is it just me...

Is it just me...
*or did anyone else think "Lady" (lets be honest) Gaga was 38+ years old.
{via}
Girlfriend just turned 26.
Excuse me?
I'm about to turn 25 excuse me while I wipe my tears... is this what happens next?!
Is it just me...
*or does it bother anyone else when someone re-pins something from you on pinterest then their 'new' pin gets 500x more re-pins than your original pin?
No?
Oh, okay just me.
Is it just me...
*or is the sound of children's laughter terrifying? I'm not talking about babies, babies can laugh all day long.
Precious.
I'm talking about 4-6 year olds on merry-go-rounds kind of laughter.
Almost as scary as Mascots...but that's another story.
Is it just me...
*or does your dog judge you as much as mine does?
...cast the first stone, Cash.
Is it just me...
*or is this the greatest thing you have ever seen?
...if you don't get this, then we just can't be friends.

"Pinning"-Charlie Sheen

Do you think if Charlie Sheen had a pinterest account he'd say "Pinning" every time he pinned something?
I do.
Here's some things I'm winning at pinning this week!
Link up with Michelle to play along!

Waiting game!

Yesterday was the big interview day!
I hate afternoon interviews.
Not only do I sit around and over think EVERYTHING all day long; I also bite off every nub fingernail I can get in my mouth.
Nerves I tell ya, they're tricky.

So around 2:30 I headed up the street to the interview.  I parked, walked inside only to be greeted with about 50-100 people.
This, my friends, is where panic began to set in.

Am I going to have to 'teach' ALL of these people?
No. Please, no.

Luckily, after everyone checked in, we were escorted into a banquet size room and separated into tables of about 15. Those 15 were considered your 'class' and you had to treat them like 'students'.

I don't know about ya'll, but talking to a bunch of 45 year olds like their 12 made me feel a little rude and weird.
Oh well, it's all about the act I guess.

So I present my lesson plan, 5 minuets flys by way too fast- FYI.

The 'judge' said "okay thank you!" and that was the extent of the feedback we received.

Um, okay?
All of this worry and nervousness for NOTHING?!!
Typical!

But ya'll, the waiting game isn't over.... I should hear something TODAY about whether or not I can move on to the next phase of interviews!

eeeeeeeeek!

Check out my weekend  recap tomorrow, it involves a whole lot of couch laying and baseball...
perfect, right?

Happy Friday!

Hey loves!
I hope you have some fun in the sun planned for this weekend!
I've been spending all day getting this lesson plan worked out so I can hit the pool all weekend long!

I wanted to take a quick break and say 'thank you' for all of the sweet words of encouragement about my decision to teach.
I'm getting really excited about it and am already thinking about how cute my future classroom will be (it will be cute, high school rooms can be so blah...not mine!)

I probably won't post Monday because I'll be freaking out preparing for my interview, but I'll be back Tuesday to tell you how it went!
