So many loves since the last time we spoke!

I'm linking up today with Jamie @This Kind Of Love for

{I'm Loving} trips home:
Last week I took a little mini trip home to see momma bear, papa bear, Oscar and Ginny.
It was so good to get away from the busy Houston city life for a few days and relax.

We did a little fishing and I caught this big guy

And I got to spend quality time with my first love

{I'm Loving} Texas in spring.

Pretty blue bonnets and wild flowers

{I'm Loving} Long walks with Cash

and photo ops for the puppy

{I'm Loving} Minty spring colors
please excuse my nubby nails... Houston, we've got a nail biter here.

{I'm Loving} some things I've found on Pinterest!

what a weekend!

This weekend went by way too fast... don't they all?

Lets do a little recap of what went down this weekend in my little slice of the world.

1. Friday night was spent with Cash at the boneyard.  What's the boneyard you ask? Well, it's only the greatest idea on earth... you see, it's a dog park/BAR.
Whaaaa?!
Perfection!

2. Saturday I woke up to find John missing from the house.
I was getting ready to head to the gym when he walked in with these
What a sweetie.

3. We went to the gym where I got to use my new water bottle.
It. Is. Awesome.
After my purse was stolen from my car at the gym, John got me this handy dandy water bottle that holds keys, ID, earbuds and anything else you may need to take with you to the gym!
Best thing ever.

4. Did ya'll know Saturday was St. Patrick's Day?
I kid, I kid.
After working out, I earned back my calories by having a few of these
Can ya'll believe this was my first green beer EVER?!
Yeah me either.
I think I never tried one because I thought it would taste like lime or something.
I'm weird.

5. After the green beer, a few of us decided to go to the Houston Roller Derby
So random, and so fun.

Awesome, right?!
So funny and a great way to end the day.

Sunday was super lazy.
John and I went to an early showing of 21 Jump Street
It was hilarious and I recommend everyone go see it!

We spent the rest of the day taking Cash to the park and painting some of John's ugly furniture.

Today I'm cleaning this FILTHY house and just working on my fitness.
Swimsuit weather is HERE in Houston...
swimsuit body; however,  is nowhere to be found.

I hope ya'll had a fun weekend!

Happy Monday!!

You know it's fun to stay at the...

That's right ya'll.
As of Wednesday, I'm a new member at the local Y.
And when I say local, I mean it's less than 5mins away, so naturally this is why I joined.

Yesterday I had my first Y experience.
It.
Was.
Awesome.

While, sadly, there wasn't any of this going on...
...there was a whole lot of this...
and if you need to know one thing about me, know that I LOVE old people.

They're the best.

I went to a kickboxing class yesterday morning.  The others in the class were in their 30's and 40's.
I can deal with that.
After the kickboxing, I went to a flexibility class which is basically a class where you stretch.
Awesome after kickboxing right? Right!

So I waltz in there all red face and sweaty from beating up imaginary people only to be met by a class of 70+ year olds.
Old people need to get their stretch on too.
The instructor turned off all the lights and played soft music while he instructed us on each move.
Things were going awesome until I started noticing a pattern.

People were falling asleep in the class.

Okay, I get that it's 9am, I get that this is a relaxation class, I get you're 100 years old, but c'mon!
The snoring was overtaking the music.
I had to control myself from dying laughing.

I mean, after the class was over, the instructor (who was himself well into his 60s) had to go SHAKE people awake.

Oh how I wish I had a hidden camera.

Needless to say, I am SO GLAD I joined the YMCA.
I will admit I was a little hesitant at first, I don't know why, but I was.
Not hesitant anymore!
I'll be going back daily, if not for the exercise, for the amazing people watching.

Hope you all have a funnn weekend!!
Don't forget to wear green!

Do You March Madness?!

Let me start off by being completely honest.

I could care less about basketball.
I am and always will be a Football and Baseball girl.

Why you ask?

Because basketball players aren't attractive.

There, I said it.

But, because it's March, and because I'm American, I like everyone else I know filled out a bracket for March Madness.
Now, how did I fill out a bracket without knowing anything about the teams such as records, conferences, etc...?

Did I do extensive amounts of research? NO
Did I ask John which teams I should choose? NO
Did I cheat and copy a professionals bracket? NOPE

So what did I do?

I chose each team based on which mascot could kill the other.
don't judge me

This turned out to be one of the most hilarious brackets I've ever done.
Let me tell you there are some STRANGE mascots out there.

**DISCLAIMER: If you go or went to one of the schools I'm going to talk about, I'm not trying to offend you,  but your mascot is weird. You should already know that.  Lets face it, my college mascot was a ferrel pig.  We can all laugh about that one**

So here we go, first up:
1. West Kentucky "Big Red"
um...okay, looks like a life size muppet.

2. Wichita St "WuShock"
This may be the most terrifying of them all. Looks like a giant french fry with arms. And what in the WORLD is a 'wushock'?!

3. Xavier "Blue Blob"
Xavier has two mascots.  This one is just so silly.

4. Syracuse "Otto the Orange"
Your mascot is a fruit.  Congratulations.

5. Wisconsin "Badger"
I have this one going pretty far in the tournament because, lets be honest, honey badger don't care.

So those are just a few of the strange mascots that made it into the tournament this year.
I picked the Memphis Tigers to take it all because in my mind, Tigers can destroy anything.
Sorry, I'm not sorry.

And just because we're on the subject of weird mascots, I'll go ahead and show you my alma mater's pride and joy
Meet the Arkansas Razorbacks!!
Sue. E, Big Red, Boss Hog, Ribby, and Pork Chop

So strange, and yet, so proud!

What was your college/ high school mascot?

Bet it wasn't as unique as these!!

Good luck to you if you're playing along with March Madness!
I hope I get at least one right... haha :)

What I'm loving!

Link up with Jamie and Michelle for some Wednesday funs!
{I'm Loving} Country Music!
Over the past couple of weeks I've seen Luke Bryan, Eli Young Band, Blake Shelton, Zac Brown Band, and last night I got to see my girl Miranda Lambert at the Houston Rodeo!
She is now by far my favorite.  I used to be pretty even between her and my other girl, Carrie Underwood, but after seeing Miranda live, I'll have to say she takes the cake.
Like, I'm saying her and I could be besties.
We might be the same person.
During the show, she started to introduce her song "Just like you, only prettier" and she said:
"Because I'm blonde, the entertainment industry expects me to look a certain way.  They want me to weigh 100 pounds, and I don't.  I like cold beer and chicken fried steak."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

{I'm Loving} daylight savings time!
I'll admit it was rough at first, but I'll take those dark mornings for sunlight at night in a heartbeat.

{I'm Loving} what I've been pinning on Pinterest!

These are so cute for wedding favors!

I have the shirt, I need colored denim in my life.

IN LOVE with this bed

tuesday randoms

I just got back from another long walk with puppy Cash.  We decided to make a pit stop at the dog park because there was a lonely puppy playing in there and Cash wanted to make a friend...
awesome.
So, a particular puppy who doesn't necessarily enjoy baths had to have a SERIOUS bath today.

And now he's all clean and passed out on his bed.

Life is good.

Last night John and I went to go see Zac Brown Band at Rodeo Houston
 via
They aren't my favorites, but I like a few of their songs like "Cold as Winter" and "Free".  However, they brought down the entire house with their rendition of "Devil Went Down to Georgia"... their fiddle player is amazing!
This is from the CMA Awards, but I think they may have even done it better last night!
They also got a standing ovation from singing "America the Beautiful" before jumping into "Chicken Fried".
I must say, I was impressed.

Tonight we're heading to see my girl Miranda Lambert!
So excited.
Girlfriend lives my dream life.

Hope ya'll are having a great week so far!
