What do you read?

Why hello there!
In case you haven't rolled outta bed yet like me, guess what?!

And with that being said, I have another day of applying for jobs mixed in with doing a whole lotta nothin.
Ya'll, I've literally sat my booty on the couch everyday watching tv and searching away for jobs.  Yesterday, while my brain and body were turning to mush, I thought to myself:
'you know what? I should probably read a book or something.'

I can be studious sometimes.

I just finished the Hunger Games series
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Can't wait for the movie.

I'm not going to lie, I was super surprised that I liked these books.
I've never read nor seen Harry Potter or Twilight (I know, I know) because I DESPISE fantasy.  I'm sorry if you love it, but I think that it's just ridiculous.
So to keep with my hatred of all things wizardly and vampir-ey(?) I'm just going to say that The Hunger Games aren't fantasy but more drama-esque.
Go with me here.

Now I'm going to ask ya'll to do me a little favor... help me find a new book to read!

Leave me a little comment with your favorite book (new or old) and I'll definitely look into it!  I am by NO MEANS an avid reader so there's a pretty decent chance that I've never even heard of, much less read any of the books you might suggest.

I'm excited to hear whatcha got!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Go do something fun!

The Help.. Any of Chelsea Handler's books- of course they're vulgar, but seriously made me laugh out loud!!! And Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond is my fave. Duh!!! :)

Yea, Twilight and HP are more fantasy where Hunger Games is more dystopian society. Not quite the same, and I'm not a fan of either genre generally, but I liked all these series. I agree with Allison; The Help and Chelsea Handler books (Especially Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me)are great. I also really loved Before Ever After by Samantha Sotto - it's a good romantic, but not "romance novel" type book with a good bit of history and fantasy - but not the wizards and vampires type.

The Scarpetta Series by Patricia Cornwell is an intense murder/mystery type of series that wraps you completely up!! There's 19 books in the series so it could keep you busy for a little while :)

Just found your blog and am a new follower! I have to admit that I'm a fan of all three book series, but Hunger Games was AMAZING! I'm looking for a new book series myself. I'd love it if you'd stop by and check out my blog as well!

i've never bothered with the other series you mentioned either - but LOVED the hunger games. although, i was one of those who found the last book debateable. it was good after pondering - but right after? i don't know if i thought the same.

anyways... i can't wait for the movie either! ;D
